Softball is a sport that has been played by women and men for over a 100 years. Women started playing softball for entertainment while men were away at war, as seen in the movie "A League of Their Own". Softball can be played in either "slow" or "fast" pitch, but "fast" pitch is the only one who is played at the D1 level.
